THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES (MEMBERS ALLOWANCES) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2003 (AS AMENDED)
Under the Local Authorities (Members Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 (as amended) the Tyne and Wear Integrated Transport Authority has to make a new Members Allowances Scheme before 1 April each year. At its meeting held on 28 March 2013, the Authority reviewed its members’ allowances for 2013/14. It had regard to and subsequently endorsed the recommendations of its Independent Remuneration Panel that the allowances for 2013/14 remain unchanged. The Authority agreed that the following allowances will apply in the financial year 2013/14 commencing 1 April 2013 and that a new members allowances’ scheme be made to that effect:

Travelling and subsistence allowance is payable under the Members Allowances Scheme for certain specified duties.
Copies of the Members Allowances Scheme [and the record of allowances] can be inspected at the Customer Service Centre, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne during normal office hours (8.30am – 4.30pm) Monday-Friday. The Members Allowances Scheme can also be viewed on the Authority’s website at www.twita.gov.uk
