Economic Development and Regeneration
The North East Combined Authority’s ambition is to work with partners to create the best possible conditions for growth in jobs, investment and to make the North East an excellent location for business, by prioritising and delivering high quality infrastructure, and to enable all residents to benefit from economic growth long into the future.
Working with partners, the North East Combined Authority:
- Draws on the significant skills and sector-led expertise of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership
- Co-ordinates promotion of the area
- Provides the right environment and infrastructure for attracting and embedding investment
- Works with the Department for International Trade (DIT) and other Government partners as required.
The lead member for Economic Development and Regeneration is Councillor Iain Malcolm, who is also the Leader of South Tyneside Council.
