This section contains information on the Integrated Transport Authority’s overarching objectives and policies for transport in Tyne and Wear.
The Tyne and Wear Local Transport Plan 3 (LTP3) is a ten-year strategy (2011 – 2021) covering all forms of transport in Tyne and Wear. It is supported by the first in a series of three-year delivery plans (2011 – 2014) setting out how the strategy will be put into effect at a local level.
The Plan has been produced by the Tyne and Wear Integrated Transport Authority on behalf of the six LTP Partners – the five local authorities in Tyne and Wear (Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland) plus Nexus, the local Passenger Transport Executive.
