Iain Malcolm
Councillor Iain Malcolm, Leader of South Tyneside Council and Chair of the North East Leadership Board. Councillor Iain Malcolm, Leader of South Tyneside Council and Chair of the North East Combined Authority.

Iain Malcolm has served as Leader of South Tyneside Council since 2008 and has been an Elected Member since 1988.

Iain sits on a number of regional committees and chairs several boards including South Tyneside Health and Wellbeing Board. Iain also chairs Newcastle Airport Local Authority Holding Company Limited and serves as a Non-Executive Director and South Tyneside Foundation Trust.

Previously, Iain was Chief of Staff to the Leader of the European Parliamentary Labour Party. In 2001, he was appointed Deputy Chair of Sovereign Strategy, which offers a range of consultancy services.
