Great turn out for devolution discussion

Over 100 people joined the devolution discussion in Durham last night.

The consultation event is one of a number being held by the North East Combined Authority to get people’s feedback on the proposed devolution agreement for the area.

Cllr Simon Henig, chair of the North East Combined Authority, said: “It was great to see so many people braving the weather to come along to take part in the consultation.

“There was a lively and interesting debate with a number of key issues raised.”

The next consultation event will take place this evening in Northumberland, with further events also taking place on Thursday (Nov 12) in Newcastle and next Monday (Nov 16) in North Tyneside.
