The various policies and programmes listed below contribute to modal shift, social inclusion and economic regeneration. The ITA has sought to prioritise spending of limited public funds in line with its overarching objectives and to seek additional funding from external sources. The Performance Plan, ongoing performance management arrangements – including the various reviews undertaken and in progress – have and will continue to inform this process. Together these are being used to assess the relative efficiency, effectiveness and economy of our policies and programmes in delivering desired outcomes. As a result the ITA will progressively set its budget in such a way as to focus resources on the policy priorities of: – Improving public transport journey times, frequencies, reliability and punctuality in key corridors Improving security, comfort and customer care and communicating the actions taken to positively influence passenger perceptions Reducing walking distances to public transport services Improving links to employment, health, education and leisure facilities
