ITA Chair Cllr David Wood has urged Metro cleaning contractor Churchill and the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) to work together to find a solution to the ongoing dispute over pay and conditions.
Cllr Wood said, “I would expect anyone who works on Metro, whether as a member of staff or for a contractor, to be treated fairly by their employer. I urge Churchill and the RMT to work hard to agree a way forward that is reasonable, and maintains the current high standard of station cleanliness.”
