A special meeting of the Tyne and Wear Integrated Transport Authority will take place on Friday, 26 July, at which members will consider alternative proposals to meet the policy objectives set out in the ITA’s Bus Strategy.

The ITA will consider a proposed multi-operator voluntary partnership put forward by bus companies through the North East Bus Operators Association.

It will also consider a detailed proposal for a Quality Contracts Scheme, in which a single public body would franchise bus services in Tyne and Wear.

The meeting, which is open to the press and public, will start at 10am at Newcastle Civic Centre. The agenda can be found at www.twita.gov.uk under ‘committee meetings’ on the home page.
