The Governance Committee is a key component of the North East Combined Authority’s corporate governance arrangements and is an important source of assurance about the organisation’s arrangements for managing risk, maintaining an effective control environment and reporting on financial and other performance, and for the promotion and maintenance of high standards of conduct by its elected and co-opted members.
The Governance Sub-Committee
There is also a Governance Sub-Committee that deals with applications from members and co-opted members for dispensation from requirements relating to interests as set out in the Members’ Code of Conduct (part 6.1 of the NECA Constitution). It also considers any complaints relating to breaches of the Code of Conduct. For more information contact us.
