Call for evidence

The commission has sought written evidence from key local individuals and organisations to inform work which is focusing on the following:

  • Supporting people to stay well and independent
  • Focusing more on health, wellbeing and productivity
  • Exploring opportunities to improve health and wellbeing through devolution.

The full call for evidence document can be found at the bottom of this page.

The deadline for evidence to be provided was Friday 22 April.

Listening events

The commission also held listening events in each of the seven local authority areas within the combined authority area to provide individuals and organisations with the opportunity to discuss their ideas with members of the commission.

In addition to the Listening Events a specific event for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector was arranged working with VONNE (Voluntary Organisations Network North East). The event provided an opportunity for the voluntary sector to inform the Commission’s recommendations and to identify the issues associated with what needs to happen and to ensure the VCSE is enabled to be a key design and delivery partner of health and wellbeing in the future.

Useful documents

You can find a copy of the full call for evidence document and a report that sets out the key themes and discussion points from the VCSE (Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise Sector) event, at the bottom of this page.
